Check out our competitions from our first season:
We have some fabulous entries for our last competition, which had a history theme. The students shared their enthusiasm and new knowledge and proudly described their entries while parents were amazed at how much information was gleaned, the interest imbued and the diligence with which their children partook in their research.
The winner of our Competition #1 – Writing, was Paddy Taylor. He received a certificate and a $50.00 voucher for Presents of Mind. The history competition is currently with the panel of judges and the winner will be announced on Sunday, 16th August when we come together to submit our chemistry competition, launch our term 4 competition and partake in a children’s activity.
Looking forward to a cache of beautiful crystals!
UPDATE: QAGTC WEST CHILDREN’S COMPETITION #1
On Sunday, 22nd February, eight enthusiastic gifted young people met at Kenmore library to partake in our inaugural Children’s Competition. The theme was creative writing.
Before the start, the children gathered in the games corner, and despite mainly being strangers to each other, eagerly challenged each other to a game. It was a joy to see such convivial rivalry. They were then invited to sit at a desk and tackle the task of the first competition. The intense concentration was palpable in the otherwise silent room, with even the parents being moved to reduce their discussions to a mere murmur. As the children completed their task, they quietly drew off to play more games whilst the others finished.
NEW CHILDREN'S ACTIVITY:
