Our thanks go to the staff of Brisbane Boys' College, in particular to Sandra Lummis and Lesley Roy, for co-hosting the workshops with Judith Hewton, and for lending us their excellent facilities and their expertise. The IT staff were an invaluable support and the boarding house caterers are treasures! We all enjoyed the freshly baked delights they brought us each day. What a treat!
The leaders showed once again that there are great teachers capable of extending and challenging gifted children in our community. We appreciate their talents and thank them for all the work involved in preparing for and carrying out these advanced-level workshops. Parents who stayed to talk to us raised important issues which we discussed at length after sharing morning tea in the kitchenette adjacent to the library lecture theatre. State Management Committee and other QAGTC members were on hand on both days to help make sure all ran smoothly and the children had adequate supervision. Everyone involved agreed it was a worthwhile enterprise and the outcomes justified all of the work involved. Thank you everyone.!
