On Thursday 1 July, after a busy and productive two days of Challenge 2010 workshops for gifted students at BBC, Anthony Stevens (QAGTC President), Judith Hewton (QAGTC Secretary) and Gail Young (QAGTC Management Committee) met with the Minister for Education and Training, Hon Geoff Wilson MLA, and Julie Grantham, Director-General, Department of Education and Training.
The meeting went very well. In particular there was great interest shown in the QAGTC Strategies and Indicators materials. (See this website to check this material out for yourself.) They were both very impressed that we had the knowledge and expertise to produce a document of such quality.
The Director General said she hadn't seen it and would be talking to the school auditors next week about our materials - hopefully for use in the school audits in future! We were positive and helpful so they were relaxed and had a very good attitude towards us.
