In this workshop, participants will be given opportunities to conduct practical activities in astronomy during the daytime, and collect, interpret, and explain the results as they are gathered. We will then analyse how theories enable us to add meaning to our explanations of various phenomena. Finally, we will speculate on how, in the not too distant future, we might establish settlements on our near neighbours the Moon and Mars. A portion of the workshop will involve the construction of useful astronomical instruments – the Astrolabe and the Planisphere.
Cost of event:
- Member cost: $20
- Non-member cost: $30
