"Learning Communities for the Gifted:
Pathway to Excellence"
"It has been said that the quality of a person's life is in
direct proportion to their commitment to excellence. The same
can be said collectively of society and thus the quality of a
society is in direct proportion to its commitment to
excellence. In the face of adversity and an uncertain future
society needs the support of all its members. However, if
society aspires to excellence in solving our most challenging
problems of sustainability, prosperity, peace, personal-well
being, it will need the creativity and innovation of our most
gifted students. Hence, society needs to optimise learning
communities for the gifted so their diverse gifts are valued
and developed. Learning communities for the gifted maximise
learning and individual development which enables gifted
students to realise their contribution to self and society.
Pathways to excellence are initiated; developed; fostered and
celebrated as gifted students strive for excellence through
access to quality curriculum and expert teaching that
facilitates optimal learning and achievement.
We owe it to our gifted students to nurture their
abilities, and we owe it to society to foster excellence and
prepare tomorrow's leaders."
