PRESENTER'S INFORMATION

These guidelines should be followed in presenting your paper, discussion group, or interactive workshop at the conference.

For a 40-minute paper, speakers should aim to speak for about 30 minutes allowing some 10 minutes at the conclusion for discussion. A chairperson will monitor times.

A workshop session has an 80 minute time slot. Workshops or panel discussions should be interactive and not just a lecture. Participants attend workshops to engage in active learning experiences through opportunities to discuss and share innovative ideas with other participants. Presenters should plan to finish on time to allow participants to move to the next session, which in most cases is a lunch or tea break.

Presenters are encouraged to stay as long as possible at the conference and to join in discussions with participants in informal settings.

Abstracts will be published in the printed conference program.

Room allocation is based on capacity and any special requirements. See the "venue" page and the Room Attributes links for each building from there.

Each room will be equiped with standard facilities such as whiteboard/blackboard, ohp and screen. Some rooms will be equiped with data projectors and have access to the internet. If you require data projection facilities you should advise with your abstract. There is no guarantee that this will be possible but we will endeavour to locate those presenters needing data projection in the appropriate room. However, there will be limited technical support and contingency plans should be developed.

Each room is equipped with a phone and a help sheet on the lectern will explain how to get assistance.

A quiet room will be available for presenters’ use over the weekend. The registration desk will have the key.

You are welcome to bring papers for distribution but photocopying will not be available at the venue.

Please think about writing a full paper for publication in either Mindscape or the Australasian Journal for Gifted Education. If you intend to do this, an electronic copy and hard copy should be brought with you and left with the secretariate.
