"Hoping I'll get by should not be the fate of our brightest minds" (Alsop, 2004)

Gifted students who have a learning disability have learning characteristics that set them apart from their peers. They face many complications which impact upon their academic achievement, as well as their social and emotional well-being. This workshop will highlight the learning needs of gifted students with a learning disability and offer some practical strategies for helping these students reach their potential. It will address issues such as identification an programming ideas so that these students aren't just getting by, they are thriving. Janelle will speak as both an educator and as the parent of a gifted student with a learning disability.
