Parenting Gifted Children: Some ideas to meet their social
and emotional needs

The challenge of parenting is one for which most people have little training.
Yet this is probably one of the most important jobs we will ever have.
Parenting gifted children has some unique challenges, which can be difficult
but very rewarding. Finding ways to enhance self-acceptance, increase
motivation, become an encourager and have effective communication with your
children are important goals for parents. Some specific social and emotional
needs common to many in the gifted population are reviewed and strategies to
accommodate these are discussed.
